Seriously considering buying a C55 and want to get info from all of you current owners, the good and the bad. What do you like about the car and the dealership experience. What do you dislike or problems you have had with the car and or dealer. I have read the previous posts but was looking for some current feedback. Any insight you all can provide would be much appreciated. By the way what prices did you all pay for your cars and did you lease, purchase outright or finance?

thanks in advance.

No responses in 3 weeks? Well, sorry GBH - I am in the same category as you. I would also like to see some feedback from some of the current C55 owners here. At least we'll get this thread back up on the top of the list!!

You looking to order a new 2006?

as you can see i have a c55 i posted some pictures of it i upgraded it =)

its a nice day to day car.

It handles way better then the c32, it more agile then the c32, interior quality of the car is way better then the c32 overall benz made a huge improvement to the car.

i just dont like the transmission issues, but a quick renntech ecu upgrade takes the problem off just 2000 dollars.

other then that its quick its fast and i love it!!

any more questions just ask me!

I REALLY enjoy my C55 AMG, it has all options.

http://www.viiper.com/c55amg

I've gone from:
1972 Datsun 240Z
1993 Mazda RX7
2001 Honda S2000
2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10
2005 C55 AMG

No complaints really.... I'm just hopeful of some decent items coming to the car aftermarket for reasonably priced HP gains.

The car is great for highway trips... and has some guster should you need it at a light.

I bought the car used (2,500 miles)... so I did not get the dealership experience.

I drove a 2005 Audi S4 and the 2005 C55 AMG. No comparison. I then hunted for my slightly used C55 AMG bargain.

Go get your C55 AMG!

Only have 255 miles on ours. Tested both the 05 S4 and the C55. The audi gives more feedback, but it became tiring after a while and had significant wind noise on the highway. The only critizism I have of the C55 is that the digital readout in the center of the instrument cluster can be hard to read in bright daylight, other than that we love the car and have had no problems. It's has very good performance with smoothness. Absolutely no rattles or squeaks. If you want a more visceral experience and a lot more discomfort on a long ride then look at an M3. However, the C55 will outperform an SMG M3 or an Audi S4 with more comfort. On cornering, the other cars are marginally better, but unless you plan to track your car do it with style and comfort and buy the C55. If we still like the C55 a year from now, then I'll probably Kleemanize it and turn it into the ultimate sleeper.

My new granite gray C55 has 400 miles on it. My sales experience was bad but the car makes up for it. This is my first MB. I work for Honda/Acura Motor Co. and that's all I have owned. I have always wanted and AMG and I'm not getting any younger so I pulled the trigger.

I have not really pushed it since it's below the 1000 mile break-in period but it seems to be a great car. I wanted the E55 but could not afford it. I"m not used to the low tires so I already scraped a curb (ouch).

I lost some rear leg room from my Acura TL but everything else is pretty much equal. At the end of the day it's still just a car, but hey, I like fast cars.

Can you please elaborate on that? What made the sales experience bad? I'm looking to get a C55 in the next 60 days and would like to know what to expect. I'm assuming it's just snobby attitude of MB dealerships.

That's the transmission downshifting for you while breaking...I actually like that, but it doesn't make for smooth braking.

Overall, I look forward to driving the C55 every chance I get.

I'm still debating between the Kleemann vs. RennTech ECU upgrade. I just got news from Kleemann that there are NO authorised Kleemann dealers in Southern California at this time. OTOH, there a few RennTech dealers in So. Cal. Now I need to justify spending twice as much for the RennTech ECU upgrade and at least having some local support in case there are issues. The Kleemann upgrade is the better deal, but I don't feel like installing it myself in case there is a problem...[xx(]
