Great point! I suppose I could drill out a hole in the original plastic light cover and plastiweld in the new projector bulb. I'm going to hit up the junk yard and find a few to test on. Worst case scenario, I learn to live with disappointment. I'll report back after I finish the project.Feel that. I would expect you could find one and fit it to the lens cover. That wouldn’t be hard at all.
That's probably what I'll end up doing since I can't seem to find anything I like. I'd just like to get a white light shining a star without the typed "mercedes benz". And no blue light colors(too modern looking). A clear white light would make it look like it could've come from the factory. Even though it never did.I'm hardly a purist, but have to admit, these look cheap. I would rather upgrade to a brighter LED bulb and call it a day.
Pretty sure there are some where you send them the image. And others where you can place your image onto literal disks, and then you can swap out the disks. That's probably what I'll end up doing since I can't seem to find anything I like. That's because the films are plastic. It will go melt after working some time.I bought some on eBay. They were great at first, but after a bit, they really don't show up. Just my $.02.
