Hi guys,

Looking at a 1992 300SL in Canada where I am. The car has 8k miles. The interior is mint. From the vehicle aircare records (the local government mandated emission tests) the car had 1k miles in 2005, and since then the mileage has incrementally increased to its current state. The problem is the car doesn't have a record before 2005. This means it's been imported out of province.

The Russian site is down so I can't confirm this car is from the states. I am suspicious the speedometer is in miles but odometer is digital. I am fairly certain it's not a Japanese import numerous signs show otherwise.

My understanding was that these cars had a mechanical odometer in this year. Can you guys confirm this?

For safety reasons it is best not to post your VIN online guys.
Do it with a PM.
But as for your question, indeed in 92 the clusters were still mechanical.
The digital were introduced late 93.
That would mean that your cluster has been swapped and can not trust the readings on it.

I think you misunderstood me, i meant not to post the VIN nr but the PDF is no problem.
I assume this is a general file mentioning several years.
I believe somewhere between conversations there has been a mix up...that can happen.
