I just traded up from my W210 to the W211. I am having trouble getting the car to recongnize my cell phone book. I do what the manual states and nothing happens. Does anyone have any tips? Thanks!

I would call Auto Wireless Solutions. They know what the latest compatible phones are.
There website has a PDF that is old. wireless4mb.com
They are the MB distributor for NA for the MHI bluetooth pucks. They have helped me a
lot in the past.

Check some of the other posts here and also Audio/Telematics forum. I posted to some threads back a few months regarding the different versions of the BT pucks and their ability to allow the phonebook to upload. I can't recall the part numbers of the pucks without digging up the posts, but I do recall that the first version of the puck wasn't as compatible with as many phones as the second gen.

I had a Motorola Karma that worked great with the first gen puck (phonebook synced just fine). Then I got a Blackberry Bold and it wouldn't upload. I had to upgrade (via Ebay) to the second gen puck and the phonebook synced fine. From what I could tell, spending the extra $$ for the latest gen puck (black instead of silver) wasn't worth it.

You are correct. The latest gen black puck is using the exact same chipset and has no
more compatibility than the second gen silver puck.

James- it was easier to go back to my Ebay emails and check the part numbers. Take a look at the part number on your puck:

The first generation (less compatibility) is B67875839. The second generation, which is what I now have to make the Blackberry work is B67875878. You can pick one up on Ebay for about $125-150. Good luck.
