OK, I know this is like asking meat eaters to become vegetarians, but has anyone converted a W202 - or any other model for that matter - to LNG.
With Natural Gas prices dropping to historical lows and possibly staying there for a long time to come due to the immense amounts of Natural Gas coming from shale - fracking projects, the thought of keeping our older cars running on this lower cost energy is at least worth discussing. Thanks for any thoughts you may want to share.

I started doing some research. Seems it goes under the term CNG - Compressed Natural Gas. I found a website of a fella who does conversions: http://www.younkincng.com/ and even found out that there is a refilling station about 4 miles from where I live !! The CNG is provided by the local utility that sells electricity and gas. Con Ed.

In my case, it probably is not worth it since I fill up only about twice a month.

So my cost of fuel is say $120 per month. Even if it dropped in half, my saving would be only $60 x 12 = $720 per year.

I saw photos of a Benz conversion. The tank is in the trunk - replaces the spare tire - a big round metal donut. It was in an S-class.
