Morning,

Any idea what the original motor mounts are on this 190e 2.3-16v? I was quoted BOGE hydraulic motor mounts through a South American dealer, considerably cheaper than some motor mounts here in the states. I've read a few things good things about them too. Just want to make sure I'm buying something that is going to work properly with my car.

I called Mercedes Classic Center in Anaheim, Ca, they quoted me some front motor mounts for $104.00, I didn't get a manufacturers name, and they are closed today, I'll try tomorrow.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

The OE/OEM mounts seem to last about twice as long as the aftermarket. It is one of those situations where the MB part price is somewhat justified.

The mount not only makes for a smoother feel at idle, but also reduces the amount of vibration being telegraphed to the plastic radiator necks of those Behr and Nissen radiators.

I had my motor mounts replaced a few times & I complaint that they wear much too often. So they replaced with solid rubber motor mounts & not the fluid fill type. Ofcourse this was many years ago, did they pull a fast one or are there really solid rubber motor mounts?

Its possible. its not really good... I have never had to replace any of my cars motor mounts more than once. BlinD was once building a race spec car and drilled out a stock mount and drained it then filled it with polyurethane. I don't see why some company wouldn't make a solid state motor mount, or it could have been a shop custom. However i don't ever recall coming across any through online dealers but thats not to be said they don't exist.

Never seen "off the shelf" solid motor mounts for the W201. If I recall correctly, the motor and transmission mounts shear during a front impact, so that the engine and transmission drop and avoid coming into the passenger cell.
