if i hook a battery tender charger to the front starting battery, as voltage rises does it connect in the second battery in the boot and charge it or does it only connect when the alternator is working/car running. if someone can explain the operation/connections on the voltage box it would be nice.
lots of heavy cables going to sams?
2 big red cables one from the rear battery and on a separate terminal the positive i presume, from the front battery. then the ones going where, will try and add photo from my phone.
thanks

According to the charging procedure attached, charging the starter battery does not charge the consumer battery (boot). In order to charge the boot battery you need to connect the positive charging cable (2) to the rear battery charging post (5) as shown. Or I would imagine you could do as in your photo above, but not sure if you are bypassing any built-in protection for the onboard electrical.
