Look at your engine.
It is the big pulley in front at the bottom.

If you know how to swap a pulley it takes about half an hour or less.

It weighs about 5 pounds and comes in the mail.

It cost around $800.00, you will have to confirm that with Linh.

You didn't post your year but you will probably need the entire kit, pulley, colder plugs, MAFS tube and the FPR.

You can trust Linh to ship it and help you if you have any problems.

Send him an e mail or a PM.

am/pm it takes considerably longer than 1/2 an hour, i mean theres not too much to handle but there is a few hours work there. i got the pulley and in my opinion its best to stay stock and get great gas mileage. remember the girls dont know the difference and neither does anyone else.

If your car is manual, you can install this yourself. The automatic require at least two people to install the pulley and the rest of other parts only require one person. To order the pulley, i will send you an e-mail. I don't know where is Plano Tx but ASP is located in Stanford, Tx. If ship to Planto Tx, it only take a couple days. The total weigh of the two packages is arounf 20 lbs.

Linh: Plano Texas is a suburb of North Dallas. And just for info, Stafford (where ASP is located) is a suburb of Houston, about 250 miles south of Dallas.

Ok.... and thank you. I guess he can forget about picking it up. I suggest ship it to Plano, Tx. It will save him at least $100 of shipping instead to Sweden.

I have a '99 SLK 230 "Sport" manual transmission.

I put in a chip from www.powerchipgroup.com last year that is supposed to give me 20 ft lbs/20 hp.

How much extra is Linh's Pulley give?

Also, since I can't make the shift from 1st to 2nd quickly enough, I haven't been able to guess how the factory 0 - 60 7.2s number must have improved. Anyone with an automatic know how much better a 20 ft lbs improvement yields?

Here is a repost of performance changes I obtained with Linh's pulley kit: (see this one and the following post)

RESULTS: Linh Supercharger pulley Kit

We finished up the Linh N. ASP pulley/kit supercharger additions on Monday night on my auto trans, 2000 SLK 230. No other mods except Yokohama ES100 225/45 X ZR16 tires front and back; 1 inch smaller diameter than stock.
Run timing is independent from car speedo.

I have not yet installed the K&N filter or Linh’s air box mod. Maybe good for an extra 0.1 sec?

Results below:
Sub 6.5 second 0-60s from an essentially stock 4 banger, 3200 pound car(with driver weight) is amazing! Congratulations Linh, you did great engineering on this kit!!

These were runs on different days and conditions, with several 0-60 runs, but only a few ¼ mile runs, so the 0-60 numbers are more reliable.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
TIMED RUNS BEFORE LINH KIT
ALL withOUT power braking, just hit the gas and let the auto trans shift itself.

gave 0-60s of:

Best single run increment times:
0-50 5.18 secs
0-60 7.20

RE: RESULTS: Linh Supercharger pulley Kit

Latest update.

Some new best times with Linh's pulley kit on my 2000 SLK230, under "best" conditions: 50 degrees air temp, dry, thick air, 20 feet from sea level, a little lighter weight from only 1/8 tank of gas, K&N filter, MILD power braking at 1700 RPM gave:

0-60s of:
6.18 secs
6.19

0-50 4.53 secs
0-60 6.18
0-70 7.79
0-80 9.55

This is SLK320 performance on a SLK 230 budget.

This is a totally different car now after Linh's pulley kit. When asked to describe my SLK230, I used to call it a "very nice and responsive 2 seater". Now I call it a "very nice and fast sports car".

In addition, changing to ultra- high performance tires (in my case Yokohama ES100 225/ 45 X ZR16 front and back)give a tremendous improvement in handling and response over the stock Michelins. Also, the 1 inch smaller diameter give an in-effect lower rear end gearing, so help accelleration times. (My recorded times are independant of speedometer.)

Thank you Mark W. I still get "high" from customers comments after 4 years !!! Who's better to tell how good of a kit then the customers themself. I'm so pround of this kit. It started out as a hobby for me and never thought it would someday put so much smile on people faces. It was never about the money when i set the price of the kit at $800. That's $1000 cheaper then Kleemann kit.

Hi John,

I've have try so many mods on the Slk like intercooler, exhaust, header, chip, water spray...etc. and none of this mods even come close to what the manufacturer hp claimed. For example, the complete Supersprint exhaust system (header, down pipe with resonator deleted and exhaust) yield in a couple hp gain. This whole system cost my friend over $1500 !!

My pulley kit will gain some where between 20-25 rwhp and over 30 lbs-ft. torques. Depending where your based dyno is (usually around 150-155 rwhp), with my pulley kit, it would take it up to 180 rwhp and 200 lbs-ft. torques. Remember, this is "rear wheel hp" not flywheel hp. This would translate into around 225 hp and 240 torques.

John, i my opinion, i personally don't want you install my kit because you have the powerchip installed. My kit is tuned based on factory car. Powerchip chip tuned based on factory car. If you combine this two mods together, you will definately have problem because the Powerchip lean out the air fuel ratio based on the factory spec. of 12.0:1 air fuel ratio. My pulley kit air fuel ratio is around 12.5:1 - 13.0:1. If you use the Powerchip with my pulley kit, this would take it past the 14.7:1 A/F ratio and that's a no no with the pulley kit. PowerChip will also advance the timing a little. With the pulley kit, the timing need to be at stock or less due to higher boost.

So the powerchipgroup allows me to re-submit the CPU for reprogramming for the pulley-kit. Meaning that one of their programming versions takes into account the pulley kit and the change to air-fuel ratio.

I was just wondering if I already got the lion's share of the total gain. Even if I got the new program from powerchipgroup, would I notice that much difference since I am supposed to already have 20 ft lbs.

On another topic, I notice that I get better gas mileage with the chip because I stick with higher gears (car doesn't feel as underpowered so I automatically shift up) and drive around 2000 rpm instead of one gear lower (remember that I have manual transmission). The chip must not change the air-fuel mixture all that much throughout the rpm curve. I only use more gas if I am really getting on it all the time.

With the pulley kit and the change in air-fuel, I would think that there is a hit on gas mileage all the time.

http:/I'm curious Linh, I think that Powerchips or one of the other chip manufactures offers a chip for a pulley upgraded car. Would it still be bad to install your pulley kit with these chips?/

First, i want to make it clear before i explain something. What i'm about to say is soly based on my past experienced with one chip tuned company call Upsolute chip. They also claim 30 hp with the ecu upgrade. I try 3 difference version of thier chip and 2 of the 3 versions actually made my car performance worse. The 3th version felt better then the first two version but i didn't feel any faster then stock.

When i installed the pulley kit, the 3th version of Upsolute chip cause my car to misfired badly on the dyno. The misfired was gone when i went back stock ecu. HPS also have this same problem with their sc not running right because the owner didn't disclosure about the ECU upgrade.

In general when it come to ECU tuning. If your car is not stock, you have to have the car on the dyno for ECU tuning. They can try by changing this and that but you don't really know exactly how your engine running until it on the dyno. The car can feel like it gaot power but it can be running lean that you don't even know about it until you dyno the car. It possible that they can tune your ECU with the new mod but are you willing to pay $100 each time on the dyno until they get it right?

I have no attachment with the pulley kit Linh sells, because my former 230 was a 2001 and did not require a "kit." Only a pulley and a new longer belt. But I can say I have not read anything negative on this forum about Linh's kit. Everyone who has one seems to be happy. If there was a negative comment, I missed it.

That said, I'm sure you will appreciate the additional power from a larger pulley. No doubt in my mind. Can't speak for the pre-facelift cars, but mine felt as good or better than a SLK320. However, even at that, lurking in the back of mind (constantly) were those test drives I had in SLK32s. I could not get the feeling of raw power and tremendous acceleration out of my head. So, I finally succumed (happily so) to a 2003 SLK32 that I am in love with [:D] As you are in Southlake, and I am in Bedford, perhaps we can get together some weekend. There a still a few of us SLK owners here (16falcon, arevee) in and around the area.

Yes, but there's no way of knowing if you get the max gain or if your car is running safe. If they get it right, it gonna take at least a couple visit to the dyno to find out. If you don't mind spending a couple hundred dollars then it can be done.

Powerchip is our sponsor and if i can't tell it like it is then i won't say a thing.

You should because they make the power by leaning out the air fuel ratio.
