I've seen tons of pics of SL's in internet and I can see that the US models of SL don't have the light level regulator beside the lights switch, Why is this?
Here in Europe, all Benz Cars comes with this feature, but my SL it's an american Version and don't have it.
Oh, and by the way, what is this button placed where must go this regulator?

The headlight level control is a requirement for halogen lighting use in most European countries. Other countries do not have this requirement (including USA), so these parts are not fitted to save both cost and complication.

My SL500 did not have a switch in that position, so I am unsure as to what it is.

Yes, it's the adaptive suspension setting switch! I am pretty sure, but not positive. I will take a look tomorrow and let you know. (If it is, some SL500 will have it too.)

This switch is to adjust the ride height of the suspension. This switch is documented in my 1996 SL500's owners manual, although my car does not have this switch (or apparently this feature either).

BTW, this forum doesn't seem to be too active hence the lack of replies.
