Got up this morning and the weather report said clear and sunny and high of 70 degrees. First nice day of the year. So I decided to take the SL out for the 50 mile trip to work. Right lane all the way, kept it at 60mph. Economy gage nearly pegged to the left all the way, temp gage steady at 85c, full tank and the needle barely moved. Jethro Tull in the CD player. 6:30 AM and watched the sun rise on my way in on the Taconic pkwy. With the new timing chain, guides, valve stem seals, and cam oiler tubes, the car ran quiet and smooth as silk, like new. It was a bit cold this morning so I had the TUWU and thanks to advice from the forum the heat and climate control worked like a charm (changed the Mono Valve Solenoid Repair Kit last week).

On the way home it'll be TDWD and I think Peter Gabriel in the CD player.

Life is Good!

Moments ago I put the top down on mine, too. Expecting close to 70 today and 70 for sure tomorrow. Cleaned and waxed the well for the top, too. Sure gets dusty in there. Looking forward to cruising around for the next few days.

what a day...
took wifey's XJS to muffer shop for small repair...
8 am TDWD AC/DC in the cd player...
life is good...

two hours of TDWD cruising to nowhere in the 107...
two lane highway shaded in places by very large trees over the roadway...
lots of waves and honks of those less fortunate in their hardtops....
stop for lunch then blast it home on some sweet twisties with long staights...
LIFE IS GRAND.....
now...on to the beerthirty time of day....

My SL is out of reach for another week or so. I sorely missed it today.
But, life is good anyway.
The weather is mild.
I spent the day outdoors.
The kids are home for the summer.
Nobody's ill.
I've got a belly full of BBQ'd steak.
There's beer in the fridge.
And good company on Benzworld.
What more could a man want?
Oh yeah, maybe that later too.

Oh yay WDTO.

Life is good in a 107.:p

PS Don't forget 107's stick out like a sore thumb.

From what I've heard from some of the old guys, you gotta take the pill 1 hour before you start getting romantic.
Just thought I'd pass that along.

Had the day off so I could get a french drain installed, and they finished up a lot faster than I thought they would. The weather was good, low 70s, and I took it out for a drive, where it got attention. Upshot is, my car is supposed to be in a music video to be filmed near here a week from Monday. Some singer I'd never heard of, and I have no idea how much they're paying for the use of the car for the day - they said I would be paid the "scale rate", but I forgot to ask what that might be. It'll be kind of cool to know my car was in a music video, no matter how little it is. I confirmed that I can be there to babysit it before I agreed to anything.

Scott, you gotta contrive to get yourself in the pic.
It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Meanwhile what's a French drain? Sounds erotic.
