My SLK 230k is at 17,000 miles now. I was wondering at how many miles could I expect to have to replace my shocks.

I was also curious about the same thing for the brake pads and rotors.

Thanks.

This is a very good idea for a topic - but change the title to be more general. I'd be very interested in the life expectancy of the clutch and the catalytic converter as I seem to be having some problems with both and my 320 has only done 42000m.

It would be nice to collate peoples experiences with these types of components. I don't think this has been done before?

When last time i posted about clutch - there was no replies, so i assume no one had to change a clutch yet. I heard Mercedes clutches are good for 250000 KM if not abused. But that was from a guy who owned an older Mercedes.

Catalytic converter - i had replaced under warranty due to rattle, car was About 4 years old at that time. Per dealer - that type of failure is very common.

What about the shocks?
I have a '98 with almost 40,000 miles and the ride does feel rough. Could it be time for new shocks?

Of course, it could just be the crappy roads in Baltimore....
