Six Month Old SL550 Prepared for the Road

After selecting us multiple times to work on his Lamborghini Murcielago, Robert knew we were the ones for the job when he saw scratches all over his newly purchased six month old Mercedes-Benz SL550. Lamborghinis are fine vehicles but certainly aren't practical for everyday driving. With its V8 Bi-Turbo engine and luxurious refinement, the SL550 is the perfect grand tourer on the road as well as on the track.

At only six months old, this black Mercedes-Benz was already in need of paint correction. After washing the vehicle, we decontaminated the paint surface using detailing clay, then proceeded with three stages of paint correction. After being brought back to a flawless shine, the paint was sealed with Opti-Coat Pro, a premium sealant offering superior protection from scratching and chemical etching.

After the car polish we recommend a high class carnauba wax. This will give you a better than new deep and wet looking shine. Apply 2 coats in similar fashion to the cleaner wax. Wait until you see the resultant shine from wax on top of polish. It is unbelievable and gives your car the best shine possible and also the maximum protection available.it works and you will be amazed.

Water spots are faint mineral deposits left behind when water fade away, so drying your car thoroughly is just as important as washing it correctly. Once the car is completely dry, revive the shine of your existing wax with any number of spray wax products designed for the purpose.

Your opinion

Guten Tag.

I show you my recent work (see pictures). Is that acceptable or must I do more? - Attention, it's a newer car, it's the first version of the B class (read avatar).

Thanks in advance ... .

PS: Here are the steps I have taken. Note that the car was completely dirty and hadn’t been washed for more than a month before!

1. Washing the car first (hand wash, '2 bucket technique')
2. Washing the car with a dishwashing detergent solved in water to remove any wax, grease, etc.
3. Cleaning the car paint with water from a high-pressure jet
4. Removing residual dirt from the car paint with a clay block
5. Cleaning the car paint with water from a high-pressure jet
6. Applying a 1% vinegar essence solution with a pump sprayer
7. Drying the paint with a microfiber cloth.
8. Spraying this Platinum stuff(<klick> sorry, only in German) with a with a pump sprayer onto the paint and waiting a few minutes
9. Softly polishing the paint with a high-quality microfiber cloth.

This weekend, took it through the best car wash in town, drove it home, used Meguiar's clay bar, black wax and back to black plastic restore, chrome polish on the wheels. It's like a whole new car that happens to be an '05 (with some blemishes).
