Since you mentioned Xentry hw sw, ===> recommend the C4 mux and dell e7250 laptop (fassst)
I am a relatively new user of this xentry setup (been using the standard fare scanner autel, foxwell for some time now, on 1997 and up MB models with no issues for module access. Earlier models, I require the C4.
For your application, you should not have any problems using the C4. It is pricey, however, for my applications across the age era realm, it makes sense.
C4 learning curve is not an issue.
You also have other options of scanner via Autel, Foxwell for your latter year chassis and beyond.
