Today I go to the get something out of the glove box and the latch that you pull out to release the door so it can swing down almost came out in my hand. The right side of the latch was not connected to the door anymore.
To fix this I removed the 8 very small torx screws (used smallest torx I have) and noticed there is a rod or perhaps its called a pin silver in color and about 2 inches long that somehow over time shifted to the left and out of the hole supporting the right side of the latch. I took a long handled screw drive and small hammer and tapped it in ever so gently. Assembled all back together and works like new.:D

You presented a problem and followed with a fix, all in the same post. Congratulations on a good job.
