Back around 1983, there was a small used car lot on Ventura Blvd, I think it was between Fallbrook and Woodlake in Woodland Hills. It specialized in sports cars. They had one of these (not a Gullwing but a convertible) on the lot. It happened to have been mildly customized by George Barris. IIRC, the door handles were shaved and the areas around lights had been sculpted. The price was a ridiculous $15,000.00. When I saw it I knew what a steal it was. But, I was newly arrived in LA and still struggling to make ends meet, there was no way I could get it.

I always wondered what happened to that car. Perhaps there is someone here who is aware of it where it might now. So far Google has not been my friend.

You are correct. I have done deep dives into everywhere I can think of. I've dug into Barris sites - zilch. It is hard for me to believe that a Barris modified MB of this vintage has disappeared.
