So, one of the very very few items many might like to change in the w123 is the sound system. So, i've been thinking about updating sound system in 240D's (still original including speakers) and one of the options i am looking at is the Kenwood KDC-BT952 or the KDC-BT852 and even the older models of these models.
These Kenwood models, looks simple to complement the cabin interior decor; anyone using these kenwood models and how is it looking.
(ok, i don't care too much about disco setup in my car but having the perfect look is something, i desire with updated features; so i have no care for brand at this point in terms of sound but don't want to ruin my car's interior.......hahaha..)

You can use aftermarket Becker units, that are more modern

aftermarket radios
You sure have very, VERY expensive taste!

Have to agree that the Beckers look very classy, but damn - $500 for what is essentially an entry-level radio in terms of specifications and performance is not my idea of spending half a grand wisely.

Buy a cheapie and hide it in the cubbyhole. Leave the original in, but disconnect the speakers.:D

I just realized that it has sat-nav, why have a gps on that tiny screen?! useless

So, I'll buy one when they lower the price and get rid of that useless navigation system

I dig the bluetooth though
It's voice-only GPS, I think. It's configured for maps of Europe from what I've read.

For me I'm happy with my Blaupunkt. It may not be as good as the old ones, but it has the features I use today (CD/MP3/USB), and has an option to use bluetooth. Considering I don't use my phone when driving, I see no need for the BT option. It would be nice to have if I really needed to use it though.

I see. I'd only want bluetooth for music; pandora and the like without having to plug it in.

If you still have the original radio, there was a guy here in the forum selling a switch/adapter thing to hook up your iPhone or iPod (or other device) to play music through the stereo.

Blaupunkt 410BT? Built in bluetooth mic is nice so you don't have to have a separate mic mounted somewhere.
Not bad.

I want to upgrade the radio in the 240D with a Bluetooth radio that will allow me to use the phone and stream music. I have that function in my Honda Odyssey and it is very nice.
