Okay, so here I am trying to search and read about these two parts on my Mercedes and the forum has a 3 character minimum for searches.:surrender:

I was just hoping someone could tell me what these two parts do exactly and how I would know if they needed to be replaced? The posts I have seen only seem to describe how to replace them.

Oh, and on a completely unrelated topic. Where is this part located?

K1 spring, B2 piston. Both transmission related.
I don't know about the engine damper.
