I'm flashing the ECU on my SL55 (SpeedTuning) and I'm also (per their recommendation) going to get a better air filter. I'm going with K&N.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to say that I don't know how to change the air fillter on this car. Any pointers, pictures or writeups?

Searched this site but didn't find anything specific for the SL55.

I don't have the SL55 but I guess you can look where the air comes to the engine, follow the hoses and the air filter should be at the end of those hoses. SL500 has two hoses so I guess SL55 should pretty much be the same [:)]. For SL500, I can just lift up the whole box (clipped on) right on top of the engine and use the hex/star key to open the box.

Got the filters installed yesterday. Went by an independent shop as I was uncertain what to do. They pulled off the front plastic top cover of the engine and then removed three bolts per side (per air intake). They then use compressed air to thoroughly blow out the dust before installing the K&N's. Not that hard to do, but you need the right wrenches and need to know how much to torque the bolts. An air compressor wouldn't hurt either. For $40 I'll delegate this task.
