Well now since my ML is totaled, I guess I wont be needing the Intake anymore. I just got it too. So sad. I'll sell it for 50$ plus shipping(which wont be much since this thing weighs like 2 lbs). Takes about 5 minutes and a flat head screwdriver to put on(fits right on/no mods needed except taking off your old filter) I was surprised at the amount of air it takes in and the sound it makes. It gives my ML a nice deep sound during acceleration. Sometimes when I was going 60-70 on the highway, i would turn off my air and still feel some air coming through the vents. Pretty cool. Heres some pics. Let me know if your [email protected]

Hey "T".....To be quite honest.....l have tried at least, three different kinds of intakes with "No Success"....My Check Engine Light, always came on...it really screwed up my Mass Air Flow Sensor..l had to purchase another at $400.00 bucks....Their is no noticeable gain in horsepower, or torque...only in sound......in the end..it wasn't worth it....l'm pretty sure..most of the veterans on this forum will say the same....thier won't be any takers for this item..At l said..l have to be honest....[:D]Furthermore...you didn't have the intake on long enough..to experience these problems....

I had another intake just like this one for almost 6 months. I had absolutely no problems with it. My friend put an identical one on his X5. No problems. I can pretty much guarantee this will give no problems. Its just a K&N Filter with a rubber adapter that goes right to the pipe that the old filter hooks up to. If it were a full intake, then maybe it is prone to cause problems, but this is just a K&N Filter, with a piece of rubber on it. Thats it. Its as simple as that. Truthfully, it would be VERY hard to believe that someone would have problems with it. This is my 2nd one, I gave my 1st one away to a friend, and purchased another one. I had this one for about 3 weeks, no troubles either. I think it should be ok. Only asking $35 plus shipping. Really dont think this should give any problems. Did you have a full intake C-Rod? or just the K&N Filter?

Same here, tried 3 types of intakes and filters, dyno results actually worse with the long tubes.
Built 2 different air boxes, no good either, just as was said, noise is more noticable.
Best was a K&N standard filter in the original box, others created intake ice, MAF, OXS Lights.
And, it has nothing to do with the heating system?

Let me clear a few things up first [:)] .. I didnt say it had something to do with the heating system nor air conditioning, I said sometimes when I was going at or above 60 mph, if I could turn off the air I could still feel a small amount of air coming through the air vents. I just thought that was pretty cool. Thats all I said. And this IS a standard K&N Filter FROM the box with a small piece of rubber around it that goes right on to where the old one hooked on to. Perfect fit. Note: This isnt one of those FULL intakes with the tube, this is JUST the filter with a rubber adapter from a racing store that makes the filter fit. I am selling for $35 plus shipping, I dont know why I put 50? Anyways, its $35. I had one for almost 6 months and I was problem free. If I had problems with it, trust me, I wouldnt be trying to sell it. I dont wanna pass on problems to someone else.

That is normal in most cars. When you turn the recirculation button off in the hvac system you will get outside air in.

The air filter has nothing to do with cabin air.

When I turned off the air while I drove I put the air on 0 and turned off the recir. button and the AC Button. And I did say I wasnt sure if it was due to the filter, but I noticed it AFTER I got it. Maybe it happened before too? I dont know. All I said was I noticed it after but I wasnt sure if it was because of the filter. Sorry if theres confusion, maybe my head and neck still arent screwed on right [8)]

Are you trying to say that the K&N filter was related to more air coming thru your A/C vents ??!![?]
Do you think it also solves the musty smell?
Cool by-product of cheap 68% HP and torque gains if you ask me[:D]

(I realize 68% gains is a conservative estimate, but many buttdynoers agree on stating the lower figure in an effort not to shame the LOCHS2 and jdbower of this world too badly)

Edit: I'd also add to point out that not only do you benefit from the increased airflow, substantial gains are also derived from a more favorable power to weight ratio, the K&N assembly being infinitely lighter than the stock air box assembly (even with filter weight included for both!).

All of the stuff I probably had left to sell, got damaged in the accident. My car is now at a body shop, waiting to be taken to the junkyard. The only thing I have from my car are my K&N Filter, 2 12'' Subwoofers, amplifier, and aftermarket headunit.
