Announced today that IG Metall, the German Engineering union, is planning a series of strikes over pay.<br>

In spite of there being more than 4m unemployed in Germany, the average German worker thinks it is their God-given right to have a substantial pay-rise every year, whether or not the economic conditions or their own personal productivity warrants it.<br>
<br>
One of the companies mentioned in the news report as being affected was DaimlerChrysler and this is hardly likely to increase the supply of SLs.<br>
<br>
My delivery time for a Porsche 944 increased by three months in 1984 because of a strike by the same union.<br>

you are right, workers have to shut up and there earning should be decreased by inflation and euro<br> price rise.

...is that Sindelfingen near Stuttgart is on strike over pay and Bremen is expected to follow. Who knows also how many parts and sub-assemblies used in Bremen depend on Sindelfingen working. All this makes for more delivery delays.
