Just replaced leaking rotted/rusted fuel sending line from fuel tank to engine bay. OMG! What a frigging messy tough job it was! It took me 7 hours! Went to NAPA parts and got two pieces of 5/16 steel brake line and adapted it -- meaning snaked it in between subframe and the body and bent it to shape with my bare hands. In the end it worked beautifully.

The worst part is there are fuel return line, breather line and a thinner brake line and they are all rusted/rotten and I have to replace them ASAP. That subframe thing is really a magnet to moisture and rust. Hate it!

QUESTON: Is it possible and how difficult it is to drop subframe just on one side (driver side) while the other side still remains attached.

I have never dropped one side, but it is not too hard to drop the whole thing. This way you can replace everything at once. I just did it to my coupe so I could replace all the fuel, brake and SLS hydraulic lines.

Hi Von, your Benz is the same color as mine :) thanks for your comment. So you've disconnected the subframe and then raised the body? Or did you disconnect subframe and then lowered it?

Alec, I put the car up on jack stands and lower the subframe after removing E-brake cables, Shocks and brake lines. You have to disconnect the drive shaft of course as well. then remove the mounting bolts and lower it down with a floor jack. Helps if you have someone to hold if from slipping off the jack, but I do it by myself all the time.
