The Danish Army are now chopping up or selling their U406 and U416 because all vehicles require seat belts and low emmision. [:(] Here are some pictures from a friend f mine who works at a scrap yard. The mogs shown are all from the tiny Danish island Bornholm and have all covered under 20000km since new. OMG what a waste [V]

Hello. I am very interessted in a phonenumber (Etc.) to this scrapyard ! How many Unimogs is it there ? Any DoKas ? ...This is really interessting !
Are they scraping all their Unimogs ? Are they just located at Bornholm ?
They are scrapping or selling EVERY single one. [:0] In the future the Danish Forces will be driving MAN-8 trucks instead of the Unimog simply because of road safety. There is auctions held twice a year two places in Denmark. The scrap dealer, I visited has bought the Unimogs there. He has about 8 pcs and a lot of spare parts.

You can read about the auctions here: http://www.hmak.dk (Use ENGLISH link and AUCTIONS)[:D]

The auction catalogue is posted about 2 weeks before each auction.

I don't know how many mogs are left, but I have heard that all of the 404s are sold and then they primarely have 416s and 406s left. The ones left now must all be in very good condition since they where ment to be kept in service.

I will still try to contact the scrap yard owner some time next week to hear what he is charging for a functional mog. [^]

By the way - If you are interested in what vehicles the Danish Forces use have a look here: http://http://www.militaryworld.dk

Someone is buying them. Chris @ RI-imports has had 2 416's for sell in the last 18 monthes and I bought one of them. My 416 was in great shape with under 14,000 KM and 49 hours on it. In the last 18 monthes I have only had to replace 1 wheel cylinder and a flasher relay.

Good luck,

Brian

Help us buy them please??

Can you help arrange for forum members to buy these trucks, what would it take to get them over to the us?? Do you have room to store one or two and haul to a port or i guess there is a port on the island????How do we get in contact with the junkyard??? wiil pay expenses or finders fees if I can get one?? Thanks, will they have ant titles or what to import to the us??? How far do you live from the depo auction also, can you store and help load to us as well, can you get me a catalog and phone number, can one buy any other mogs before that auction where you live?? thanks
help us buy them....

I agree, whatever it takes, let us know, we will be ready to send money and get the deal done.
Hey, count me in, if the prices are attractive I will put up my money, lets see if we can get a group buy, it will have more pull, I am willing to pay a commission for the man to do the leg work. Lets get serious.

Andrew
Count me in! I'm in NJ near Port Newark. I have an equiptment trailer that can move a Mog and plenty of room at my farm for temporary storage. Maybe this can be helpful if we do team up to buy several of these "junker" Mogs and import them. I want more details.[:)]
Lets me careful, who has a phonebook for the island?

I googled the island and it does exist, if has 44,000 people on it total, can anybody figure out if there phone directory is online or how to call somebody for a heads up to make sure we not being cranked??? If his bud went to the yard why he not posted his phone no by now????? How can we get a phone number to call the junkyard direct??? How can we get a old or currect copy of the auctions he is talking about?? I am serious and would pay for a old auction catalog or a new one, can somebody figure out what is going to be sold at the next one and take orders or somethoing, wonder what the last mogs they soold went for over there, container i know is going to to be $3000 or more nowdays, you can put 2 mogs in a 40 foot one so we could save some, i am worried about paperwork and titles on the things, yea we can buy anything in a junkyard but bring them over and getting wacked at the port is not cool, any way to tell how old these mogs prob are from looking at them?? They must know how to export them I bet if some cabbage was flashed, I sure hope our new bud does not take this the wrong way but it is the web and and the pics of the non mog stuff make me wonder if the yard really exists in the first place??? Those are not mog rears ya know in that pic and there is not a sign of the business either??? Hope i am wrong in advance, if 2 could go in on a container ya could stack axles like cord wood in the beds to save money on freight. Bet some dealer sees this and balls it up and they end up on ebay, but still the mogs will be used not beercan material!!LOL If the freight is going to be $3500 and the mogs brings 2000 to 4000 they still not bad, but if greedy dealer gets them u will see the500% market comon on them, it scares the heck out of me that nobody here has seen them or bought anything from this allegeged junkyard???? Where is the phone no or email from the junkyard????

I think this is the main site.

Anyone that's ever bought at a government auction will know that it's tough, and the rules are very strict. I've bought from govliqidation.com, and found that some things just aren't worth it. A half dozen Mogs are 'probably' worth the effort if you had a contact to help with towing and loading, otherwise you could stand to get ripped off just getting them here. Also, most gov't auctions have very limited inspections, there is no way to be sure that you get a good runner. Good luck, Seth
I am also interested in trying to do some king of deal. Let keep trying to get more info. I'm in Houston,Tx.
[:(!] Please have a little faith in what I am trying to do for you, instead of putting me down. You are very much correct that the Island of Bornholm has a pop count of 44.000. No shit, Sherlock?

I was just trying to make a connection to the scrap dealer instead of 1400 people calling him up, making him aware, that he's got gold standing around in those mogs.

But if you turn out to be much much better at that than me, you may call him yourself.
The phone number is on his web page: http://www.mb-parts.dk

The mogs are situated in Bjerringbro in main land Jylland. I live app 30km from there in a town called Randers http://www.visitranders.com

There is also a guy in Randers dealing with amry surplus vehicles http://www.bach-int.dk but I drove by his place yesterday and there were no mogs there.

I would like to help out you fellow moggers, but please don't label me as a hustler in advance

Let me know your next move. [?] You could also send me an email on [email protected]
