...my heater blower speed selector switch (on the dashboard) broke (I think). It was working in the morning, and when I drove home from work, I could not budge it. After a brief struggle, I can click it into the first setting, and that's it! Can anybody tell me what has happened, how to fix it (read: replace), and Manny, how much you gonna get from me for it???

I agree with Manny -- you'll have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. The price he mentioned is right on the money.

part of the solution...

I haven't actually replaced the switch, but if you (carefully) remove the switch insert (using say vice grips and a cloth) and then even more carefully prise out the woodwork from either side using a plastic wedge, you'll be able to get a better look at how it is located in there. If you need access below, once the woodwork is off from around the switch there are two clips you can push on with a screwdriver that when released will enable you to pull out the automatic climate control switch panel. Hope that's some help for you?

Sorry,Max, no clips! I think the whole panel comes off.
