With ~79,000 miles. Unfortunately, there is no service booklet, and virtually no maintenance records. What are the standard service intervals? I'm fairly unfamiliar with this car, all I know is that it has the inline 6, and pre-dates FSS.

What I can think of off the top of my head:

Does this engine require valve adjustment?
Oil change interval and viscosity (Los Angeles area)
Transmission service interval
Differential fluid (?)
Coolant flush interval
air/fuel filter
Brake fluid flush interval

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Good luck with the new car. You need to get yourself a set of owner's manuals. MBUSA carries them at reasonable prices. Call 1-800-FOR-MERC(CEDES) and order them or your dealer can get them for you too. That's got all the info you need plus a whole lot more. If your car predates FSS, then I'm not positive about the folowing, but ny guess is that valves do not need adjusted (haven't had to do that sonce about 1985), coolant is probably 3 years, brake fluid probably every two years. Differential fluid is probably not on the routine service recommendations, although it wouldn't hurt to change it every few years. Any dealer can access for you all of the work every done on that car under warranty. The problem is that all dealers are not willing to give it to you. If you can sweet talk a dealership into giving it to you, it would be a nice item to have so you have an idea of what was done.

Get the Replacement Owners/Service Booklet and then go down to a local dealer and have them run the Vin for Service history..Then fill out the replacent manual..Most service advisors will do it (IF) you tip them

Thanks for all your help guys. Turns out the manual was just hiding- I have it now.

It's got the typical W210 problems from what I understand- loose rear view mirror, what I think is a bad blower motor regulator, but all in all, a very nice car.
