The head light assembly on the ML 320 is the same as the Freightliner Colombia Class big rig

I have often thought that they were the same. It's hard to tell because of the scale of each vehicle. You probably know this but Freightliner is owned by Mercedes. That is why you don't see any Mercedes large trucks in the US. The Mercedes Sprinter van was first sold through the Freightliner network then Dodge when they merged with Chrysler. Now I don't know who sells the Sprinter.

Yes Diamler owns Freightliner and Detroit Diesel. That's why you can no longer get a Freightliner with a Cummins engine. The only choices are the Mercedes engine or Detroit.

Also the Sprinter van has 3 different badges. Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes. Also the local Freightliner dealer that I have been going to for 13 years now is selling Unimogs too...

Best thing Daimler did was to get rid of Chrysler.

W163 lights are kinda junk. So imagine driving a tractor with those lights is frightful.

I agree that they aren't as good as they could be.

However, after I polished mine and installed a HID kit (DDM tuning) I no longer have issues with them.

Oh yeah, we (the old timers!!!) knew that a long time ago - well before the current forum format! Yes, the forum had a whole different format and when they switched to the current format, most of the older posts were not transported.

Yeah I did the exact same. 3m kit and 55w ddm tuning. 300% improvement.

55W, wow! Isn't it TOO bright?

I used the 5K (OEM type white color) and the 35W bulbs and they really light up the night. Since most of my driving is in town, I was afraid of causing glare.

i took the gamble and nobody flashes me. I have the driver side aimed low enough i think. I went 4500k 55w.. pretty happy with the value proposition.

I also got de-registered to BenzWorld during one of those server upgrades and had to re-register all over again. Luckily Mike's ML was no longer in the system so it allowed me to re-register using my old name. The only problem is that it shows me as a much newer member than I really am and I lost my old post count. I see some of my old posts from time to time and shows me as GUEST.
