Hello.
I have just got back my MB from my MB official garage to make some work on the front axel

I run it for few miles and I have this problem.
When I push the stop pedal it will not respond till it at the bottom.
Someone of my friend say "probably they putted air on the oil break pipes"

Do You know how to solve that problem.
If I have to do a hard stop the pedal run the whole lenght and then start to stop the car!!
I found it quite dangerous.
Till 2 days I can't go to the shop because today and tomorrow here is hollyday.

Any help please?
Thank You
Regards.

Did the MB garage work on the brakes?

Do you know how to bleed the system?

before you do anything
1. check the fluid level in brake master cylinder has not dropped
2. look for brake fluid leak around the brake calipers ANF any hoses/pipes

I don't know if they worked on brakes.
They worked on those parts
202 460 0219
202 460 0319
203 240 051798
211 330 0335
203 240 031798

I don't know what exaxtly are those parts

But today I found the streering wheel like it doesn't have anymore the (I dont' know the english for that word) we call Idro Steering that help you rotate the weels while the car is stopped and in the city manouvering.

By the way the brake fluid is still there half way between max and min
No bleeding as far as I can see but I'll check better later.

You need to one of those air pump "self brake bleeder" for about $45 (Btw, I post pics awhile back when I did these on my Slk and Clk about 2 years ago). To use it is very easy. Here's a short procedure. Add brake fluid to the "self brake bleeder" reservoir. Then screw the cap from the "self brake bleeder" reservoir to the car engine bay brake reservior. Now, keep pump the air pump until you see the gauge on the pump show around 15-20 psi. Every pump is difference (follow instruction of your pump), mine was good for each wheel. Now, you are ready to unscrew the "bleeder screw" on the brake caliber (make you connect another clear hose to the bleeder screw so that the old fluid can be drain into the bottle/container) to release the brake fluid slowly until you see the new fluid (by color) and the most importance thing, NO AIR BUBBLE !! Do this to every wheel and you must pump the air pressure back up to 15-20 psi again for each wheel. You must also start with the rear wheels first. Damn, i hope you understand. It alot easier to do it then the way i explain. I did all 4 wheels in about 3o mins. Good luck.

Cixi, bleeding the brakes is not something you want to do by yourself, if you have never seen or done it before. It is a fairly simple procedure, but there is the possibility of allowing air into the system that will put you into an even worse situation then you have right now. If you can find someone who has done this before and watch them, you can see exactly what to do. It's not a hard operation, but if you make a mistake, you can have serious results. Let me suggest that you have a qualified mechanic do the job, and try to watch what he does, help if he will allow it. That's the best way to learn.

1. Return to MB dealer.
2. Demand the fault is corrected free of charge.
3. If they argue, tell them that they had better co-operate or your 'Godfather' might send someone to discuss the matter with them....capice?

Cixi, I re-read your first post, it sounds to me that you have lost the power to the power brake system. If the brake pedal goes almost to the floor and then is very hard, but you still have brakes, that may be your problem.
There is a big, round, very short, cylinder behind the master cylinder, it may say LUCAS on it. Look for loose hoses at and around that cylinder, that may be your problem.
