The spark plugs are dry. I disconnected an injector...barely a drop came out after crank crank crank.

Any idea?

Swapped in another OVP; no diff.

Got plenty of spark. Something telling the fuel pump not to pump or did the pump just fry?

Is there an immobilizer on 1990s?

Long shot: Check the large barrel connector behind the battery. Sometimes they aren't secured with wire ties and the connectors easily become separated

no. I jumped #2 pin on the MAS to the battery. No help.

Thinking fuel pump(s) is/are shot.

Guess I gotta jack the car up (again) to check that shit.

So there IS NO Immobilizer on these 1990 CEs?

Check the power supply to the pump first.
The wire connector is right below your rear bench and there is a red tape on the fuel pump wire.
Easy to locate.

OR you could supply a DC 12V to power the fuel pump, if there is no power.
Sometimes the pump spindle jammed, you might consider to give it a tap...it might work...
Good luck.

Yes, usually a car that "ran before I..." hasn't suffered a failure in the traditional sense that something that normally is fine has all of a sudden taken a dive. These types of problems are in the domain of "self-inflicted wounds". Check and recheck everything you did and everywhere you "were" during the repair. Ask me how I know... :)

and rev counter moves while cranking, so CPS seems ok???

I'm getting power to Pin #1 on the mas connector, so I'm thinking the OVP is ok.

I put a jumper wire to the Pin #2 socket for the MAS and now the fuel pumps are whirring, but still won't start.

Uggh...MAS is looking more and more like it? Or could it STILL be the OVP???

If you have no sparks...problems might be your ignition module on the left-side of your engine bay.
That module has a notorious name to fail when it gets older...
An "expensive" part indeed in Taiwan ....

Robert said he has spark but no fuel, so next step would be a test light at the fuel pump to see if the signal is there when attempting to start.

no power at the fuel pump unless I jump pin #2 on the MAS straight to the Positive battery post. But still no start. Possible I don't have the MAS seated fully.

I ordered a new MB OVP just in case I have two bad ones. If no diff, then looking at a MAS.

Yes, I have spark.

Any chance the culprit could be in the ignition switch? Does it not tell the MAS to turn on the relay when you are cranking?
I would first check to see if that signal goes active when the ignition switch is "on".
I'm just speculating as I have not experienced this problem.

Robert, did you check the barrel connector behind the battery? Its usually wire tied to the bulkhead but could be loose.

Barrel connector? Only thing I disconnected and re-connected was the OVP and MAS. Not sure what else is behind there besides the main N3 ECU.

Well...the new MB $80 OVP didn't help any. Pumps are silent.

Guess I'll try a used MAS.

:(

What order did you disconnect things? I'd think it was the alarm module under the passenger carpet.
Can you jumper the pump relay?
