Hope Y'all will tell me I did good. Just bought a 2008 GL450 that looks like new inside and out, runs like new...140K miles but drives like new. Has new tires. The radio makes no sound, but the seller included an new radio in a box. I was tired of my 2001 ML320, I guess... and wanted something newer. I suppose if I drive it for a month and didn't like it, I could sell it. But I think I will like it. Appears to be a great grocery-getter. And, the A/C works.

Thanks Joe it's been a few months now and I love the car, I did a few maintenance tasks on it and it is just so smooth and runs like it was made yesterday. And when you open the hood, the engine looks clean enough to eat off of! The heated seats warm up in a jiffy too ...can't complain! Feels like a super safe car. I found these 22 inch wheels with tires in very new condition, for a super low price so I put those on there it looks nice, just gotta always watch the curbs!! I like it more every time I drive it.

Thanks. I found them on craigs list the week I purchased the vehicle. The guy has a GL exactly like mine, same year, only black, and used the wheels for one summer he said. He'd gotten some others he liked better... At first I thought of Murphy's Law, which dictates if you buy a vehicle then spend hundreds on wheels your transmission will break. So I didn't want to tempt fate and therefore didn't buy them. A week or two went by, they were still for sale and the price kept dropping. Finally I made an offer, he accepted, I went and picked them up. They are XIX brand, model X15 wheels, lowest price I found online for them new was about $475 each and the Falken tires about $225 each new. Totally mint, not even a scratch anywhere. The Mercedes star center caps from original wheels, pop right into the center upon installation, so most people might think they are actually Mercedes brand wheels. I'm happy with the way things turned out.

Four months into ownership, I like the GL more all the time. Safe, comfortable, big which is good in case of being hit by a drunk driver... Heated seats... Runs like a swiss watch. Thank you!

Yeah, I don't know how I come across these deals whenever I just casually look. I was thinking of getting a cool vinyl wrap on my Maserati, but the Murphy's Law has me scared, cause I wonder if I spend $2500-3000 on a wrap, then a week later will my clutch go out?! That would be about $4K-5K. And it's a nice car the way it is. Fast but not as fast as my SL600. Then, ... nothing is. LOL

Turned out, that "new radio" the guy included with the car, was some generic POS that looked cheap, and probably wouldn't even fit in the car, I googled the model number and found it online for UNDER $40!!!! I took it out to the trash bin, and in it went. I still have silent radio... the map GPS part works, and the radio can lock onto local stations, just no sound whatsoever. I have to pull it out of the dash and check the connections yet. That is the only thing on this car that is not working perfectly. OH, the video screens in the back of the headrests of the front seats, have no power as well, probably another symptom of the same issue with the radio silence..
