I have an Sl (R129) and i have been thinking about buing a Sl, R230 for quite some time

The main thing/worry for me have been the ABC suspension so i have only been looking at SL 350 and no SL 500 since most of the 350`s does come with standard suspension. Old fashion springs and shocks :smile I rather loose some horsepower instead of struggling with ABC suspension problems
Another thing is that i do not want a silver colored car since there are so many silver Mercedes
I was thinking that if i was going to buy i would buy a black one. But there are so many black ones as well

So earlier this evening me and a friend of mine(who have worked as an car mechanic for several years)went to have a look at a Tanzanite Blue Metallic 350 SL

I was kind of unsure since i have no idea how this blue color is but when i saw the car i loved the color :smile As you can tell from looking at the last picture my R129 is blue as well. Perhaps i have a thing for blue Mercedes :smile
One thing that i find great is that this is a low milage car and it looks like new both on the inside, outside and in the engine compartment :smile
Most important is that the car behaves and really feels like low milage car as well
No wear on the steering wheel and the drivers seat looks and feels like new
:smile My friend that is a car mechanic was sure that the car can not have been used at winter time and that the milage was correct

So here is a couple of pictures of my "new" (to me that is) SL 350

It is old since it is from 2003 but the car is not used much and lucky for me the car have not been used during winter
This is a big plus since the roads here during winter salted almost every day

I have always used my R129 during winter and a month ago i had to change both the left and right fender with new OEM fenders because of rust issues
Even the brackets that holds each side of the front bumper in place was so rusted that i had to change the brackets with new OEM brackets

Very nice (and nice R129, too)! I'm also a blue car guy. My CLK was color code 357U "Cadet Blue" which was a grayish-blue. My SL is code 755U "Steel Gray" and is a bluish-gray.

Thanks guys

The exterior color on the SL, R230 is called Tanzanite Blue Metallic here in Europe but it is called Capri Blue Metallic in the US :smile

I was planning on buing a blck SL but up here in northern Europe most Mercedes SL, R230 are usually silver or black and i do not want a color that so many here have

By the way, the most common taxi cars in this country is Mercedes E class estate (always brand new ones since they usually buy a new car every year)
