So far no problems! All under warranty of course but if things pop up, I'll let everyone know. Just sold my 2004 S500 with 59k miles for this. Left the other forum room and jumped to this one.

We've been talking about the S-Class Bluetec for months here at the shop (ever since we saw it at NAIAS). Congrats, you have a bunch of envious followers here - keep us posted on how things go.

Ok here's my first issues report on this brand new 2012 S350:

1) Bluetooth cutting in and out
2) Sometimes AC blows HOT for 10 seconds before blowing cold when starting car (even after it was blowing cold right before I turned car off)
3) Alert pops up in dash to "Change Key Fob Battery" everytime I start the car...I put fresh new batteries in... Still says it!

That's all for now...deciding whether it's worth going to dealer service for just this or wait until something else happens.

UPDATE > Dealer couldn't find any codes for the hot blowing air so we did nothing. Dealer installing new computer to fix bluetooth issue. Needed new key fob for the 'replace battery' alert in dash (wasn't the battery after all). Car still amazing!

I am trying to learn as much possible about real life S350 Bluetec ownership experiences as I am considering a purchase of a "previously owned" S350. Since your first post, you have owned your S350 for a couple years. Care to elaborate on what your ownership experience has been?

I have had my car for 1.5 years and it is no driven a lot, but it has been very good. I did have three warranty fixes - 1 lower turbo oil seal, 2 NOx sensor replacements. According to my dealer the total for all of these would have been in the vicinity of $4k+, with the turbo oil seal being the most expensive due to the cost of the labor.

Hello 2012-S350

How is the S350 been treating you? I was wondering if you are or had problems with this car? I'm thinking of getting this car to replace my 560SEL.

Any input would be GREAT!

Thanks

That'd be one hell of an upgrade, but definitely keep the 560 no matter what you get.

I believe the 560 will run 0-60 in 7 seconds flat, whereas the bluetec will be mid 7s. However, you'll love the low end torque in city driving. I have an earlier version of the same motor in a W211 with lower output and came from a 420SEL, and it'll run circles around the old 420.

Toolbender - I loved the S350. One of the best cars I ever owned. A few glitches at first that the dealer fixed under warranty but everything was fine after that. My lease was up and I just got a 2016 SL400. Love that too but different type of car. Good luck!

The 560 SEL has been a real work horse.

The midwest rust devils are start to play havoc on the body. I'm considering upgrading to the S350 2012 or2013, if Mercedes has corrected the issues with oil cooler and turbo seals leaking oil.

Any input on the S350 reliability would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
