Found this at a local yard. Was noticing the lip on the ground effects in rear. Anyone chime in?

It's a Gen 1 euro with US spec rear tail lights. The lips on F & R bumpers won't fit your gen 2. The skirts would probably fit though. You might check the engine for manifolds and see if the headlights are euro. Folks might be interested in those goodies (amongst others).

Thats definitely an AMG rear bumper skirt, it could either be PU or fibreglass. Stamped AMG or Vestatec or both :). Cool bit. Not so fond of the centra rims but to each his own.

If the front bumper is euro, I'd be interested. I'm still looking for one!

Must have been even worse than mclare's one last year. That can total them out fast. Shame to see one less SEC on the road, but then again, it gives parts for the others of us who need something off one of them.

The topic of engine fire is coming up way too often. Might be a good idea for everyone to get a fire extinguisher

For engine fire PREVENTION,

People absolutely NEED to inspect and clean out the leaves and debris that accumulate behind the hood, in the cowl area, around the hood hinges, and over the drains near the hinges, and in and below the battery area.

Many W126 engine fires start because of benign neglect, and owner's simple ignorance of this.

I am a fanatic about this, and inspect and clean out this area every 2-3 weeks even though the car is seldom driven, and garaged at night.

I personally view it as an inadvertent design flaw on these sdan and coupe models.

But for fallback, I also have a W126 Mercedes Benz period correct fire extinguisher installed on the front of the driver's seat frame, like a German euro model would, per the German TÜV regulations that require them by law.

+1 Trooper and Cascade. there've been a few havent there. I'd planned to get some kind of extinguisher this pay day.

When i first got the car i noticed and cleared out the leaves in that area under the windscreen. But sometimes people seem to get shorts in the circuit somewhere, scares me, which is why i got someone else to fit my stereo, and provide power to my wiring for the electric seats. Just got paranoid!

I will go by today as I was going to go by anyway to dig around and look for a few other items. Will take lots of pics and see what is worth salvaging of it. Looks like one member has seen it already so maybe nothing. PM me with any requests on pics or questions.

Front bumper (euro gen1) was in great shape in person. Crawled under and took a look everywhere.

You might grab the euro wipers and the little valence that the wiper arms come through. Won't work for the gen 2, but I'm sure someone else would like to get euro wipers! The front bumper on a gen 1 euro also has the washer nozzle in ti-- also worth having, but shipping a bumper is a PITA. Check to see if it has the fire extinguisher too.

Nevermind, I guess it's the washer configuration.
