Well Jeff wasn't sure how to post pics of his beautiful new baby to be, so I'm doing it. The vehicle still isn't road legal so unfortunately he hasn't yet had a chance to drive it. But here it is in all its splendour at the Mercedes storage facility in Germany prior to shipping.

Keep this puppy alive... I want to follow the process of this beauty.

God only knows what time will tell... and He will fill the desires of our hearts, as long as the heart is pure.

Pray that my heart remain pure before these go out of production... Even have the green light from my wife, as long as we can afford one, which we cannot at this time, but I believe in miracles.[:)][:D][:p]

Nice looking cabrio, but why is it missing one side step ?
Very observant of you. Its not missing a side step, they are before and after shots.
"Before and after" what?

Before and after he had running boards put on it.
They don't come from the factory with them?

Not in Europe, most things are options.

But if you are refering to them not being installed at the factory, then that you will have to ask Jeff. Though my understanding is that it is still at the factory in those pictures, just the storage yards.

I thought this thread died! Yes, one of the options it didn't have was running boards and I had them add them before it shipped out. They would not add the brush guard because they said they were no longer legal in Germany on new cars. Sounded strange to me but not a big deal to get here. The pics were taken at the Benz facility in Germany near Bremmerhaven (can't spell) where it shipped out. Surprisingly, the car was pretty loaded with everything else. Webasto programable heater,Bluetooth phone, parktronic, tow hitch etc. It is still at the importer and will be for a while. I will report any changes, I am anxious to drive it.

I almost forgot,I spoke to Europa about the G55k cabriolet as well since they advertise it on their website but the people at Benz in Germany said they have not and will not make them. They said they won't put that engine in the SWB. Also, they quoted me a price over 170k. If they did get them to make one, that is a little steep.

Here is one supposedly undergoing conversion at the AMG factory in Germany. Taken by a member of the UK forums while he was visiting there.
EDIT: Sorry my mistake, just a G55. Not a Kompressor

They did make G55 Cabs just not the 55K. I found one I really wanted with 1100 miles but the dealer was a little shady so I just went with a new regular G500. It was cool though.

Priority 1:
As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord.
(And all responsibilities that are involved)

Priority 2:
Keep this thread alive. Until God determines otherwise. We (our family) are very interested in this project and consideration of the seemingly impossible task ourselves...

Thanks for sharing.

To whom did you let the job? Did they give you a time estimate? Will you have it in time for summer?

saw my first cabrio today....
wow... just wow...
how much does one of these usually cost?
There are a couple on Keiser Motors at about $70k+ for a late 90s G500.
Normally they are roughly the same as a LWB when new.
