Its a M117/9 AMG engine conversion that AMG Japan seemed to have been doing in the late 80's and early 90's. I spoke to a gentleman up in Canada who has a SEL with this engine and it appears to be a M117 with M119 heads. Not an easy conversion, but apparently do-able as its been done.;)

I have to stop looking at wide bodies. I will crack eventually and build, buy, whatever it takes one at this rate. They still look as good and modern today as they did back then. It just goes to show how timeless the w126 truly is. I get stopped in either of my w126 cars and no one can believe how old they are. The wide bodies would pass for current to the unknown driver without fail.
Think of all the new camaro's, mustangs, and chargers trying to relive their glory days and the wide body does it with just a wax job.

Not sure about current but it certainly doesnt look easily dateable. I have had surprise from people at the age of my car. This wide body is particularly hot, I love it either way.
