I’m planing to jack my car up both front and rear for next oil change so the oil can be drained completely. I’ll use a floor jack to jack up front and back the put jack stands up at the four locations on both sides. I looked at the bottom and saw several locations for floor jack. The front one looks obvious, a square plastic part sticking out near the front axle. However, in the rear side there are two places look like jack point, one is the square flat area of the spare tire cover, the other is like the rear differential. I thought usually the differential is the place to use but I doubt if my floor jack can reach that far. Can anyone tell me which one is the correct jack point?

You must use the rear differential to jack the rear...I put my jack in from the rear near the wheel a bit , to get clearance to operate..
You can have the rear a little bit lower than the front to do the oil change..like 2 or 3 inches is ok.
Be sure to open the filter housing again to allow the oil to drain out of there , even if you don't replace the filter.

In the manual on page 443-444 it shows the jacking points. I have a car lift and I always use the point just behind the front wheels and just in front of the rear wheels. I have done this for years without any difficulty.

Thanks. It’s difficult for my 6 ton floor jack to reach the rear differential then push the handle to lift the rear. I probably will have to back up the rear wheels to Rhino ramps then jack up the front end.

Hi gorj ,,you are lucky to have a lift ,,,but for those of us who don't ,,and just have a floor jack ,,if we need to raise the whole car then we need to jack up by the diff and the front pad ,,,putting stands under the jacking points you refer to.

Those are for Jack stands. To lift the car with a floor jack completely first I will need to jack the front or end in the middle so the two wheels are up then put the jack stands at the 4 jack points.

You may then strike a problem in that you may not have clearance at the front either..
Maybe get a smaller floor jack ,,,they only cost about $30..
To get clearance at the front I made ramps using scrap timber ,,they raise the car by two and a half inches ,
which lets me remove the splash guard and then get the floor jack under the front.

That is very true. The clearance between the two axles is really low that I can’t put ramps between them like what I usually do for my truck. I got to find a way to do this.

If you make wooden ramps like mine you can drive the car onto them ,,remove the shield , jack up the car ,
open the drain plug , lower the car back onto the ramps near level ,,then jack it up again and finish the job.

Here are the jack points:

You will need a low-profile, long-reach jack. I have one that I bought from Costco years ago that works very will. But my advice is to suck the oil out through the dipstick tube - no lifting needed.
