When replacing glow plugs. Replace them all.

I've been replacing plug after plug this week, I checked them all but the hardest to get too and found one dead. I ordered a bosch replacement, got it the next day. I put it in and the light still blinked. Checked the #1 cylinder that I gambled on being good, it was dead as well. Ordered another, replaced it the next day. Light still blinked. Upon pulling the last 2 old ones, both were dead. Apparently pulling them out killed them. Waiting on 2 new ones now.

Find some way to ream out or outerwise clean the Carbon out of the Glow Plug Holes. The Golw Plug Reamer Bit is 7mm; they will last longer.

The definative test for Glow Plugs is when they are out get one Jumper Cable and hook hook you one Glow Plug to it and test it acrossed the Battery.

In the Tip should start heating up first and remaing the hottest part.

I had a Glow Plug that seemed good when tested with the Ohm Meter. When I did the test acrossed the Battery I found that it got the hottest in the middle of the Element; not the tip. That is bad.

I had another one that tested good on the Battery but when I Ohmed it again I found it was dead. I re-tested it on the Battery and it did not pass that time.
They were all Monark Glow Plugs that had been in the Car of one year in Southren California weather. Like Member say use only Bosch or Beru Glow Plugs.
