Hi lads i finallyy took the car into the local garage they diagnosed that the fuel pump was at fault, i supplied the new pump £150, they charged me £170 (auto elec and labour) that was wth 12months mot included, maybe i should have done that in the first place, but you live and learn, anyway what with all the new parts i fitted its like a new vercle, drove the car home on the motorway and now its like a flying machine, the response on kick down, etc is totaly different, its like driving a different car.
Thanks for all your adivce and help.

I'm glad it's running like new. There is nothing like opening up the ML on the highway. Keep driving and enjoy.
