So I talked to my dealer for an update on my car. I ordered it Sept of last year and he says it'll go into production by the end of the month. Woohoo!

Then he says that it's going to be a 2006 model. Eh? He said that all the cars that go into production this month will be the 2006 model. Has anybody else heard this?

Seems early but they're probably right according to what other forum members who are also waiting have been told by their dealers. Very possible since the new ML's and I believe the CLS are already sold as '06 models.

That's very good for you and your car's future resale value. And it's about time... you've been waiting a while.

I ordered an SLK 350 in early November of 2004. The latest info' from my dealer says the vehicle, when delivered in June 2005, will be a 2006. Build date is supposedly late May 2005.

After waiting so long, I'd rather it be a 2006 anyway. Hopefully, more 'bugs' will be eliminated.

That's because there's a 1,000 car yearly U.S. allocation for the 55. MSRP may increase, but the good thing is that your car will have better resale value! Perhaps your dealer will honor the 2005 price.
Cheers

Not sure about the SLK 350, but when I checked with my dealer on my SLK 55 that I ordered, I just found out it was built the first week of May (went into production on May 1st or 2nd). It should be on the water soon and arrive here in Oregon last week of June/first week of July. It shows as a 2005 model.

Again, the SLK 350 may be different.

My dealer did mention that the price for my car won't change. As far as I know, there isn't a difference between the 05 and 06 55's. It would be great if it was actually the 06 model, especially after such a long wait. =)

I was told the same thing by my dealer. I did however put the deposit 10 days ago. My car is supposed to be built in a few days (B1 stage rite now). The deposit receipt state that it's for a 2006 55.
