Hello everyone,

This may seem obvious to some of you but I just learnt this:

Mass Airflow Sensors (MAFs) are different on different models!:)

I was purchasing some parts on AutohausAZ and wondered whether the MAF from an ML55 was the same as the MAF from say a ML320 and discovered, at least on AutohausAZ, that the part numbers were different and get this: the ML55 MAF was cheaper than the ML320 MAF?

I also found that the part number for the ML55, ML500 and ML430 were identical.

So I guess one can extrapolate that V8 MLs have a different MAF to V6 MLs.

The questions which I really would want answered are:

What would happen if an ML320 MAF was used in say an ML55?

Would it work?

Would the ML55 be slower? Consume more petrol?

Idle a bit less smoothly?
