Can you guys confirm if this rear seat centre console/storage box is out of a W140 Lorinser S600 Coupe or not?

I picked this up and a burlwood one the same out of Europe but iam not sure what exact model they are out of? The seller thought they came from a W140 coupe, but language barrier was an issue.

I have been hunting the globe for a W126 coupe rear centre seat storage box for past 2 yrs without luck. I have managed to score a perfect W126 rear roll top burlwood piece, but no box. As a last resort iam looking to modify one of these to fit as a custom job, but would prefer the real thing from a W126 coupe.
Any input would be appreciated.

Compare it with this ,the one you see in the pic below is for the sedan 140's available on e'bay at the moment , i tought i was reading at some stage here on the forum that the rear seats from a W140 fit without complications into a W126 but you better investigate on that more if it applies to you as i'm not 100% sure .:thumbsup:

The coupe rear console has the controls for the windows and heated seats.

The sedan rear console FOR THE FOUR-PLACE SEATING ONLY controls the air bladders and rear sunshade, while the window switches and heated seat switches are in the doors.

The key slot tells you that the parts come from a pre-1995 w140. 1996 and above there were no locks on the rear storage compartment. One of those small concessions to cost cutting...

Thats are real nice rear interior shot and thanks for the feedback & confirmation they are from W140 coupe. I did not buy these off ebay but from a direct source over there.
What do the coupe boxes sell for on ebay by the way?

I just might be able to perhaps modify one of these for my W126 coupe but will have to do my homework first before chopping into one of them. Its the back part that kicks up that would need modifying unless i change out or modify my armrest instead.

Still got this mod on the back burner for my W126 560 coupe using the W140 coupe burlwood box above in my initial post.
I have since secured a W140 drop down armrest that has the storage compartment in the armrest (fold up lid)
The W140 cubby housing that sits behind the armrest
The W140 medical storage compartment that sits above the rear of the W140 seat backrest and onto the parcel shelf (not sure if this was used on the coupe)

Does anyone have a full interior W140 coupe pic or pics (or part #'s / diagram of parts) for rear interior of the coupe that was optioned with the seat storage box and the armrest storage box and whatever parts complete the whole structure between the seats in the coupe including what sits above the armrest.

I am trying to identify exactly what parts i need to complete this W140 coupe mod into the rear of my late 1988 560SEC coupe

if someone is chasing that other Beautiful W140 coupe Lorinser rear storage slider box that i posted up above in the initial post- please feel free to send me a pm with what sort of cash you are prepared to shell out for it.
As i don't think i will be using it. I purchased it in from Europe a few years back and it has been in storage well protected since and presents like brand new with no marks or wear and tear at all. The wood is like brand new condition and is perfect.

Merc-S600 that coupe pic on the left is exactly what i was looking for.
It confirms the coupe medical storage compartment overhangs over the top of the armrest.

In the sedan as you see there in the right pic is a padded section instead and a different medical box that sits further back.

What are those padded parcel shelf trim parts that surround the coupe headrest??
I assume the coupe headrests swing up into position when the car starts and swing back when the car is parked?

In my case with my SEC coupe i would have to do a complete DIY mod with speaker boxes instead to blend in with that centre medical kit storage compartment to complete the picture for a W140 coupe centre section swap as proposed but it looks like i now have all the components to complete the conversion.

I 'm not 100% sure but the surrounding cushion look next to the headrest would just be the altered rear parcel shelf to accommodate the headrests into for a sleeker look ,that's how they are on the sedan anyway ,there is no storage compartment in those .
As you know my S600 comes from Perth ,Precision Auto care ,Warren Stevenson .
If you close by go say hello for me ,maybe he can even assist you with some of your modification needs ,if you do go ,tell him that I did install a new engine .:thumbsup:
