Is it the 560 currently at Silver Star? I will be in Annapolis in the morning (Thursday) but we are in the midst of a snowstorm so all plans for tomorrow are uncertain.

Does anyone know anything about the painting process of the 107 when built? Specifically, were they robo-sprayed or painted by hand?

Also, in the case of an '87 560, would the undercoat have been brown?

Don't know about painting. The undercoat on my '86 is black.

Don't know about the spray process, but the undercoat on my '88 is body color in the wheel wells, and rocker color (or close) elsewhere, if I am remembering correctly (am sure about wheel wells).

Thanks. I ask because I stopped by and had a look at the 107 in the OP. The underside of the driver's door is brown and the car is black. It looks like the painter just missed that part of the car. The door has a vin sticker on it and appears to be original to the car. I peeked under the other door and could see a bit of the same brown poking out from the bottom edge of the door panel.

I don't have the vin but the car didn't look like it had a color change somewhere during its life. Dunno.
