Oh, this is not my pic or car. I just borrowed somebody's pic to illustrate that I need to strip down my car like this and more. I have a coupe. Those are the easy bits. The rear quarter window is secured to the door with a screw, and the window trim I removed using a cheap plastic ruler, start at the B-pillar and working from the bottom upwards.
How'd you get the gutter trim off? Can you still put it back?
Thank you. Was wondering if aluminum trim can be chromed. I was going to re-chrome my euro bumpers and get them to fix a few dents in the front bumper and was wondering whether to get them to chrome all the oxidized trim as well.I`ve just taken the driver`s side trims of my coupe. There are two hoops of trim, one in the door aperture and one on the gutter. Both were secured by numerous small cross-head screws, including a few tucked under the rubber on the a pillar. They were all buried in sealer on my car. Once all the screws were out I levered them carefully off the sealer.
Take your time to make sure you`ve got all the screws out or it will bend very easily (don`t ask me how I know that!).
lowering the rear window helped a lot.
Good luck.
