Unless your car has been updated you don't have one. Neither do I in my 2001. I'm not sure what year Mercedes made these standard.

I wish I had one of these, that way I could play mp3s. Not like the shitty MB cd changer in my trunk can play MP3s for shit, damnit...my Honda can play MP3s but my MB can't?

bump on thread from three years ago!

The best way to get an Aux input is take the stock radio/cd player and throw it on the ground and beat it to death with a Mag-Lite.
You will want to do this anyway at some point soon I assure you.

Just install this VWVortex.com - Jensen VM9223 Touch Screen

You can get one for 2-300$ now, it plays everything, you can keep your preamp, it fits very nicely too.

Saying this with all due respect because poptopclk has had some excellent advice here --

But why in sam hell would you pay 400 dollars for something like that which doesn't even play DVD's or Mp3s, no USB, SD Card, etc.? just because its factory ?

I'll take after market with the frills any day.

Price is one. Ease of install. Keeping factory "look"
FULL integration to instrument console
Full use of steering wheel buttons.
AUX input to use your dvd player or Mp3 player
Excellent sound quality (much better than stock radio)
MB logo when car starts

Price is the first detractor - you can easily get an aftermarket unit that plays more internally for less than 400. You can also use the steering wheel buttons, it just takes some jiggering.

You don't need the AUX to use your DVD player, when it already plays DVDs :D

MB Logo I guess I concede. haha.

When I was looking for something the only Non-factory replacement from crutchfield was almost $2,000

What stereo/DVD/MP3/GPS in dash unit do you get for $400 ?

Who has a unit that does everything including GPS for $400 and fits a double DIN slot and is compatable with the arcane CANBUS that Merc used on the W208

Keep in mind you get to keep the 6 cd changer in trunk
Full GPS Navigation with turn instructions in the instrument cluster.

I posted it on the last page my man -

This is the one I have:

And how is keeping the garbage CD Changer a benefit ? :D

The wiring was a little tricky, but I figured it out - didn't document what I did, but I am the stupidest person on this board, so it can't be hard.
