Hi

Maybe this is stupid question but better be safe than sorry. I just bought
W203 sports grill and installed it. It looks very cool!

I was just wondering that this new grill is not so "dense" as OEM
grill. I noticed that engine has air intakes at same level as top of
the grill.

So is there possibility that some particles (rocks, dust, sand) goes
thru air intakes and damages the motor?

Those all get caught by the air filter, hopefully. You might want to clean it out and check it in a month or two and see what all you get accumulated in the air box.

What do mean...not so good?

The grille is an air intake to cool your radiator and condenser...not to allow air into the engine...that is what the air intake is for...and depending on manufacturer that location moves...M-B engineers are utilizing the front location of the grille to pull cold air in from the front of the car - but that does not affect the air intake...

Regardless - pistons love debris...so do supercharger rotors...

The real question for me is "Is a large star sport grille safe to use on a 4 door sedan?" - If you have a sedan...

In a nutshell the grille is fine. I have the same grille and no problems.
