I love the car, but would like more of a rumble from the motor. Unfortunately, AMG really made the exhaust too quite.

Consider getting an aftermarket, high-flow resonator rather than just removing it. You'll get more of a 'rumble' from the effluent sound without sacrificing the presence of a resonator and its purpose in reducing vibrations of exhaust gas pulses. The decibel should be somewhere between the OE setup and not having a resonator at all. I'm getting mine put in next week.
Re: Re: Re: Is it ok to take off the resonator on the 55?

There are only two companies out there i know that make a high-flow resonator for the CLKs: RB tech & Renntech

I have the RB tech.

Where do you get the RB tech resonator, do you like it?
