I have an iPOD Photo with over 2500 songs on it and was exited about the integration of iPOD technolgy with the SLK.

I would have prefered that the Songlist and Albumn art displayed on the COMAND system, as the dashboard will only diplay the list and song.

The Albumn art makes it feel like you still have vinyl, rather than 000 and 111's.

Anyway, I hope Benz will eventually have a COMAND option for the photo version. I would even give up the CD changer as it really becomes irrelavant.

How does one connect an iPOD to the SLK350? AUx input? I have the DVD Nav option.

There will be full iPod integration with COMAND but album art displayed on COMAND screen is doubtful. Info here: http://www.mbusa.com/main/container.jsp?features/iPod/index.jsp

iPod integration will first appear on the new M-Class to be launched this spring and retrofit kits to be installed by the dealer for select models will appear shortly after. It appears us R171 SLK owners probably won't get it until early summer... and you must have the COMAND unit in the car for a retrofit to be possible. Lastly, only iPods with the newer dock connectors will work (so mini's will also work). It's all on the FAQ from the link.

Got an email from Mercedes today that the Ipod Integration Kit for the SLK will be available in July. They also have music you can download for your Ipod playlist.

While the IPOD solution may not include full display on the main COMMAND screen - there is a way to get this feature right now in SLK's equipped with COMMAND.

If you want, you can make a MP3 disc and insert this into the single disc slot located in COMMAND.
This disc will result in COMMAND moving to MP3 play mode and the artist name, track title, time of track, etc. all displayed on the main screen.

The MP3 disc I just made has 135 songs on it and the sound is GREAT through the SLK's stereo.
