I have read around and done loads of research on this topic, and have even posed some of my own questions in other forums but i am still unclear. I have a 2006 Mercedes S350, from what i have found it does not have an AUX jack so Mercedes iPod set up will not work but will the Dension Gateway 500 work? On the websites i have looked on it says up to 2005 model year is that correct or will it work on a 2006? what do i need to do to get an iPod installed in my Benz

there should be an aux in and out in the rear of the head unit, you need to pull it out to get access, most fab shops remove the head unit, hook up the wires, and run an "aux in" line to the glove compartment where you can plug in your ipod.

Wrong...

There is no Aux input n 2004-2006 S Class cars.

The Gateway 500 is your best bet.

The chart I checked on the Dension site at Dension - Compatibility showed the Gateway 500 to be compatible with S-Classes equipped with MOST bus through model year 2007. An '06 would be nearly identical to an '05 - and I have installed one in my '05.

I suggest that you keep up with posts by Golfnut and Rob13572468 concerning installation of the GW 500 Version 3 hardware that is now being shipped; there are some questions on the new installation manual instructions that route the CDC directly to a new fiber optic input, when the CDC is in the trunk; and whether the earlier installation, such as that used for the GW 500 Version 1 and 2 hardware, is the only practical installation for a trunk-mounted CDC. See http://www.benzworld.org/forums/aud...-gateway-500-most-not-ready-prime-time-3.html.

The installation manuals have been a consistent weak point in Dension Gateway 500 product. I'm sure we'll get it figured out, but long-distance installations over the web are difficult to troubleshoot.

You would need the MOST version of the Gateway 500.

I'd get it at Enfig. Decent price and the guys there have tried to help troubleshoot my installation.

As Skylaw points out - I'd wait until I get mine installed and working before you pull the trigger. It was quite disappointing that after 6 hours of struggling with the connections I still couldn't get it to work right.
