I've got a 2006 C230. I was quoted $299 for the unit + $360 for installation. That kinda sounds like the ballpark figure (a tad more $$). I've thought of picking up the unit from ebay or somewhere else, but by the time I figure in shipping it's almost the same price. And what if the unit has a problem? I'm pretty sure my dealer will have to deal with it if I buy it from them... If I buy it somewhere else (like ebay), I may be stuck...

any comments folks?

Yep, thats about right. I have ipod integration cost on my 2006 ML and the same amount was quoted by my dealer. It is worth every penny.. works perfectly fine and the sound quality is awesome. Good luck

Just a tip

Why need an IPOD, I have just burned all my songs on a DVD-RW. I have about 950 on it and still almost 1GB free. No need for any equipment. Obviously you need to have a DVD player installed. On some cars the MP3 feature is not enabled, so you need to change that. It works from 2004 software onwards in general.

Only valid in vehicles w/ a headunit that can play audio from a dvd.......in the U.S there is only a couple models. 171 w/ comand,some late 220/215/230 early 211 comands if programmed correctly. Might have missed one.........

Yes, That is the only controls you will have of the Ipod. Ipod mounts to a dock connection in the glove box typically.
