Hello all, been using your guidance and help for the past 3 months on my new to me 98 E300 W210.025 model, thought it was time to share some pictures. I bought the car in late December and have been working hard on it ever since. The good when I bought was, paint, interior was 7 or 8 of 10, motor and tranny appeared to be in good order with relatively clear fuel lines, no gross leaks and started up quickly and smoothly. Ca car all its life so no rust, clean and dry underneath. The bad, not sure where to start let's just say many things that all of you have helped me repair, and I'm not done yet. Over all she's getting there, avg 28.5-30.5 mpg so far, ran 3-5 tanks of diesel and 2 tank fulls of bio diesel. Some of the work completed:

Suspension
Front - Sway bar bushings
L Control arm bushings
Shocks
Springs (Eibach)
Shock mounts
#5 pads front
#2 pads rear
E430 17 x 8 wheels
235/45/17 tires
Rear
- Sub-frame bushings (kicked my arse, not complete yet)
- Control arm bushings
- 4 suspension arms
- Adjustable camber arms
Brakes
- Rotors
- Pads
- Brake lines
- ABS/ETS/BAS light Issue
- ABS pump (not did fix problem)
- K40 relay (not did fix problem)
- Brake switch (not did fix problem)
- SAM module (fixed problem)
Motor
- Fuel filter
- Transmission filter / fluid
- Motor mounts (drivers needed)
- Air filter
- Purple Ice (radiator)
- Coolant (ZerexG05)
- Thermostat
- Differential fluid
- Little shock tensioner
Other
- Drivers side window regulator and motor replaced
- Passenger side window in-op, cleaned switches now works
- Cabin filter
- Coco mats
- New fog lamp, parking lamps
- cabin filters
- hood shocks

Still to do:
- I have both heated and multi-contour seats - both are in op as of today
- stereo volume is broken, goes to level 310 volume when turned one time
- sun roof cover is off track, dont want to move sun roof for fear it will open and not shut!

Before and after.

I bet you will get few points with our moderator right on the spot ;)
Some reflexion about correct model coding.
Since MB introduced letters to "class" to their models about 1995, there is some confusion how to read it. In older models 300 was the class and that could mean different engines. Than letters after digits stated the body style where first "t" meant "touristic" or wagon.
I drove 300tdt, what was W123 wagon, diesel turbo.
1998 model is called E300 turbodiesel and some owners call it E300TD.
My part person pointed that such calling tells it is wagon, diesel and proper calling should be E300DT.
I think I am the only one using it this way and that is why to avoid confusion, sometimes i write "turbodiesel"

did those new springs lower the car? the stance looks just perfect now. a very nice looking e class!
Yes, stock albeit worn out set up on the 16" wheels was measured at 27" from the ground to the middle of the wheel arch - both front and rear were 27". After eibach springs #5 pad front #2 pad rear the front dropped 1.75" and the rear 1.5". I felt the front dropped to much initially and went with the largest pad I could along with camber/caster bolts and the best alignment suspension guy around got it to what you see there. The rear adjustable arms work great, glad I spent the money on them.

why did you purchase the new suspension arms? to gain adjustability when lowering?

the camber spec on mine is right at the limit, i'd love to be able to correct this. mind sharing how much and where you got those adjustable arms?

i have the adjustable bolt kit but, nobody (dealer included) seems to want to install for me...

These are the ones I bought. I'm certainly no expert but over the years I've learned that you have to find guys that live and breath suspension and have seen it all. Not always easy depending on where you live, good luck.
