My 01 Kompressor has 42k miles and is virtually mint except for the badly worn tan part of the interior. I hear that it's really common but what's the best thing to do with it?

The plastic parts you can repair with paints specifically developed for the SLK interior. I get mine from Viponds. There are a a lot of articles on this forum and YouTube videos on this.

Make sure you apply the paint with a small sponge to match the plastics mottled finish. A paint brush will give you streaks.

Be careful if you remove any plastic parts for painting, with the car's age, they have a habit of self disintegrating.

Mike is spot on, you would think with how much these beautiful cars sold for the paint would not come off as easily as it does. I restored my interior last year, take a peek!
