I think you are right, except it feels like leather. I plan to cut a swatch out and take it to Lowes so they can do the color match. Then I will buy a premium latex paint to do the interior touch up. Of course I will use my power sprayer to do it.:big laugh::big laugh:134 is "MB-tex light brown"
At least he can get new replacements in the right color from World Upholstery. Those of us with less common interior colors are not so fortunate.Your sunvisors look like shit.
Just thought I'd point that out in case you hadn't noticed.![]()
Didn't they come that way from the factory?. So many 107 cars out there with black tops on their dashboards; not right.
Hmmm. My shit is much darker brown that that. If that's what yours looks like, you might want to see your doctor. Or change your diet. Or both.Your sunvisors look like shit.

Your shit issues are probably due to the habaneros you've been scarfing down.Hmmm. My shit is much darker brown that that. If that's what yours looks like, you might want to see your doctor. Or change your diet. Or both.
I used to think so but every one I've seen with a black top was just an unpainted dash topper. As far as I can tell, no SL was produced with a two-tone dashboard.Didn't they come that way from the factory?
I don't think you are correct. Not all those black tops are toppers; there are just too many of them.I used to think so but every one I've seen with a black top was just an unpainted dash topper. As far as I can tell, no SL was produced with a two-tone dashboard.
Add carrots to your diet and you will end up with a perfect Bamboo color.Mine resembles the Palomino since the wife put me on the fiber supplements, but I will, in the interest of good taste, refrain from posting pics.![]()
Is it truly original or is there one of those blow molded dash tops on it? I've installed a few and when carefully installed they are very hard to tell from the factory dash.I don't think you are correct. Not all those black tops are toppers; there are just too many of them.
My 560 has a black top over creme beige and it is original.
Anyone else here?
That car has the small steering wheel center and the climate control panel from a 1977 or older model.Quite a lot of 107's came standard with a 2 tone dash.
I'm not sure what year they started in, but I know a lot left the factory like that.
Photo is scan from 1980 280/380SLC Factory Catalogue.
My '81 280SL has the same steering wheel. I pulled the dash cap off and the dash is black with standard cracks in several places. Also has same control panel. Euro or model difference? That car has the small steering wheel center and the climate control panel from a 1977 or older model.
Does anyone know when M/B put two-tone dashes in these cars?
